The late 17th century through the first half of the 18th century, under the reign of Electors August I and August II, is regarded as the cultural Golden Age of Dresden, the capital of Saxony. In the early 18th century, George Frideric Handel visited Dresden and encountered some of the outstanding musicians working there at the time — Zelenka, Lotti, Pisendel, and others. In this concert, we will present their works alongside Handel’s own music, as well as compositions by Vivaldi, who often visited and performed in Dresden.
